Nuremberg's Blaue Nacht 2012
On Saturday the 19th of May 2012 the historical Nuremberg Old Town is illuminated in dark blue, to kick off Nuremberg's cultural summer programme once again. This time the Blaue Nacht (Blue Night), Germany's largest and most diverse long night of art and culture, takes place with the theme of artistic mastery. From music, to performance, theatre and film there are more than 60 venues to discover artistic mastery at. Projections and light installations turn the castle, as well as the other central places, into a fascinating art spectacular. In commemoration of the 350-year existence of the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg the Blaue Nacht art competition 2012 will be contested by the academy's students, the budding maestros themselves.
In order to experience the exciting art and culture programme you can buy a Blaue Nacht entrance ticket and armband directly at the Blaue Nacht which grants you entry to the art and cultural venues.
Due to its location by the Old Town gate, Le MÉRIDIEN Grand Hotel Nuremburg is in the thick of the action during the Blaue Nacht, which is easy to discover on foot.
